I'll have a scotch, neat & he'll have... An Apple Martini?
Oh yeah. So this weekend was Chetty & Debbie's Wedding reception extravaganza. All the fam was in town from all over the globe and it was a blast. We hit a steakhouse (you know MY favorite place) for an over the top dinner on Friday, and then (how bougie is this...) nightcaps at The Four Seasons. Yeah, thats how we roll with the Carters. I had my opportunity to drink some really fine scotch, while my lovely and delicate husband had an apple martini with a cherry on top, followed by a stinger (possible the worst drink on the planet as far as my palate is concerned).
In our infinate brillance, we met up with a few friends for a birthday nightcap WAY TOO LATE for people who have babies, and proceeded to drink a few beers on top of our already saturated brains. Yeah... like i said, brilliant. But we sucked it up for the rest of the weekend, and had a great time.
Thanks again Kel-Belle for that amazing Brittany Spears impersonation, it was DEFINATELY the highlight of my weekend.
In Other News:
KatoChanel & Rach-o watched the bean this weekend for us. Thanks a million you guys. Katochanel had the wonderful task of putting Ellie down for bed, and i just happened to forget to mention the one small little detail... no one has ever put her to sleep besides Fer or myself. Whoops! Honest, I didn't mean ta leave that out! But she rallied and between her & Rach-o, the bean slept oh so soundly.
And in a few short days, Rittle Rizzy & Crunchy will be here! Can you feel the love?

This one time... (not at band camp)...
While I was sitting in the bright sunlight of 7am today, a thought popped into my head of a very, very, very bad dao, almost 16, convincing a wild Tiffanee that it would be a great idea if we tried to jump her car over the train tracks behind school. She picked me up most mornings, and when we would cross the bump in the hill of the tracks I would think.... we could totally get air off this thing. One day, on the way home, we were in a mood (of sorts), so we turned around, hit 35mph and jumped it. At the time we took air, it was amazing. Hitting the ground again, well, thats the part they never really showed you on The Dukes. All rattled from knocking your brain around in a car. And the headache that was sure to follow. Oh, and there was some guy that never hung out with us that she happened to give a ride home to that day.... man he must have thought we were insane. Whoops! And one small jump also did about $1200 worth of damage in the suspension, shocks and frame of that ford probe. Hey Tiffany, if I never told you before... sorry for always coming up with those crazy ass ideas. But thanks for always being willing to join me in them. LMAO.
If Ellie turns out to have my personality, I am in for a world of hurt.
Speaking of the little bean, she decided that 6am was a good time to wake today. She must not have gotten my memo that CLEARLY STATED that Momma does not do 6am. I will work at 3am faster than I will 6am. So, I blatently ignored her until 7. When I (finally) went into her room, she was having a party in her crib with all her favorite crib toys, and looked up at me incredulous, as if to say "Woman, how dare you come to my party so late, AND, don't you even THINK about changing my diaper infront of my friends!"
In Other News:
Elliott likes to pinch and grab at things while she is eating her morning bottle... the underside of my arm, my face, my boob. Careful kid - your Momma's just crazy enough to pinch back.
And Carly SO won a daytime emmy yesterday when she found out that Michael was dead and took the photo from Sonny. I am fully expecting that Jason's emmy performance will be today. It was almost as good as when Stone passed away in the late 90s. Yeah Mombi, that good.
Speaking of good, they should have warnings after your favorite show (Gilmore Girls)ends that it will not be on the next week. They should also have to tell you when the next new episode will air so that you have something to look forward to. Damn Feb. sweeps! Build everything up just to step in and take it all away.

To Sleestacks & Connie Francis...
Be it known that I hate your answering machine. That manical robot man is out to get me. If you got a message this weekend that was: "I didn' t hear a beep." Yeah, that was me. I'm not calling back to try and work it out with him. (mr. automation)
Hello, hello dear Internet. How was your weekend? We went to Champagne-Urbana, IL and kicked it with Victor, Theresa & Ringo. Good times, good times. Theresa starred in a play (Confessions After Midnight, a Story in 3 beds) and we went to closing night. She was amazing, totally inspiring. I envy her chutzpah to get out there and do something so creative. It was amazing weather and good company, & I am sure glad, if this is the sign of things to come, that we are back in the midwest. I love the smell of Spring.
I made the decision this weekend to put this craziness out there with my name attached to it. I will let you know if it becomes the dumbest thing I have ever done... I am sure that time will tell. I just thought that by owning up to it, well, maybe in some small way, I am checking to see if inside of motherhood, I can still have some chutzpah of my own.
In Other News:
I think Zach Braff and I have to break up. Its sad, I know, but i heard he's been seen with Mandy Moore, and while I will admit that she is cute ( I saw her at The Coffeebean) I do also have to say Zach that you disappoint me. I will however keep my TiVo set to record Scrubs, but see to it that you do not travel any further down my Hollywood nono list. Thanks.
I think i have to stop drinking so much coffee in the mornings. I am about to jitter out of my skin.

Not a Picture Share!
I know I know, I have been Picture Sharing in leu of actually taking the time to be creative, or at least you know, type something. And like all the emails of promises I have been sending this week, this time, I will be different. And if you believe that, I heard about this amazing Llama ranch in Montana that I would LOVE to sell you. ;-) But, Dear Internet, I am going to try.
Elliott Rose is 7 whopping months old today. If it is any indication of things to come, i awoke this morning at the ungodly hour of 6:40am and told Fer... "It's your turn, go get her." Thinking with absolute certainty that today was Saturday. 2 whole days off the mark. Awesome.
This past month from 6 to 7, has brought about the most amazing changes in this little one, and I have to say, I have really been enjoying the time we spend together. We play and laugh and hardly a tear will fall throughout any given day now (from either me or her) and I love it. Fer keeps saying "this is it, this is the perfect age. This is my favorite stage in her development." And what I know is, he may be right, but what I keep saying to him is... Stop saying that! You want her to think you only liked her when she was 6 months old? One month kid, that's all you got, then you got moble and your Dad was over you. But I remember what my friend Tiffanee (sorry, thats who you will always be to me) said to me the day I went into labor and she just happened to call, just hang tight to the 6 month mark. Once you get there, its great. Tiffanee, how right you are.
I can feel spring around the corner and I am hanging tight til it arrives. With so many many things on the horizon (Chetty's wedding reception, Mombi's wedding shower, trips and weekends with friends) I do not see myself slowing down until sometime in mid April. And by then Elliott will be crawling for sure, so really, I guess I won't be slowing down now for about the next 20 years. Awesome.
In Other News:
It's been awhile, and i have to: So has anyone else been watching GH? Fer was laughing the other night when there was the big church shoot out between Sonny Jason and Faith. It was like a scene straight out of Goodfellas or something like that. I love my stories... its the perfect amount of camp to bring laughter to any day.
Oh, and Sleestacks & ConnieFrancis, have you been watching Gilmore? Seriously, this was the best episode ever. Ever. Luke is totally my new boyfriend, but don't tell Zach Braff.
